Today I read different information on the Internet and found one interesting thing. As far as I understand, this is not the news anymore, but I personally did not know anything about the existence of such a “monument”! Did you know about that?

The monument to a prostitute can be found in Prague! This is a bronze sculpture of a woman without underwear. The monument shows this woman in a process of giving intimate services to a client. A lot of citizens were against of such a sculpture in the city. They call it a symbol of porno, vice and shame.
The official name of the monument is “The Branch of Vice” but local citizens call it only “Whore monument”!
What is your attitude towards such monument? Does a prostitute have a right to be called a woman? There are many monuments to different professions can be found all over the world. Can prostitution be called a profession?
P.S. By the way, it is considered to be a good omen - to come to the sculpture and rub the intimate place of a leaning ladies with your finger!

ReplyDeleteWell, as far as I know, Amsterdam also has a monument to a prostitute. this profession is legal there, so they do not find any bad in creating such a monument. Really, why to be shy? Prostitution is a profession as well. At least Prugue and Amsterdam think so...

go to Prague Chriss! lol! this monument is near its creator's studio because it was prohibited to stand at the square.
